If the broadband rollout were restricted to urban areas, then life – especially for the service providers – would be a lot more straightforward. But for the broadband vision to become a reality, the UK’s diverse rural communities must be included in the drive.
In fact, broadband’s potential to break down geographical barriers through high-speed communication links will not be met until the rural areas are fully embraced.
Alcatel, through its work with various partners, has been helping to pioneer broadband rollout in rural Britain.
